In recent events, famous actor Hansika Motwani and her husband, Sohael Khaturiya, have been granted a divorce by a Family Court in Bandra, Mumbai. The duo had gotten married in Jaipur in 2022, and have officially ended their marriage through mutual consent after both acknowledged that the relationship was broken. The two had also been reportedly living separately since June 2024, before officially parting ways.

Amid the separation headlines, Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khan’s relationship had been in controversy way before that. Just after they had announced their engagement in 2022, the internet was flooded with debates about the latter’s past marriage and the actress’s connection to it. Before his marriage to Motwani, Khaturiya was married to Rinky Bajaj, and their marriage had reportedly ended after a few years. And after that, several clips of their wedding started surfacing, in which even Hansika could be seen as a guest participating in the haldi and sangeet ceremonies.
In fact, she was even seen sitting beside Rinky Bajaj during the choodha ceremony. This fueled speculations about the nature of their relationship, even more with people speculating that the actress was a close friend of Rinky, and many accused her of marrying her best friend’s ex-husband. Hansika responded to this scandal in her docu-series called Love Shaadi Drama in the first episode.

She said, “Just because I knew the person at that time doesn’t mean it was my fault. I have nothing to do with this. Because I am a public figure, it was very easy for people to point at me and make me the villain. This was a price I paid for being a celebrity.” Sohael Khaturiya also spoke out to counter the rumours and defend Hansika. He said that word about his prior marriage spread in a false manner, giving the appearance that his previous relationship terminated because of Hansika.
