Shenaz Treasury is a popular travel and lifestyle vlogger with over 1.2 million Instagram followers!

The recent controversy surrounding podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on the YouTube comedy show India’s Got Latent has had wider repercussions beyond his personal brand. The outrage has now reportedly affected influencer marketing in India, with vlogger and actress Shenaz Treasury revealing that she lost a major brand deal in its aftermath.
Shenaz Treasury Dropped from Brand Deal
Shenaz Treasury, a popular travel and lifestyle vlogger with over 1.2 million Instagram followers and 5.64 lakh YouTube subscribers, has claimed that she was dropped from a brand partnership following the backlash against Allahbadia.
In an interview with Moneycontrol, Treasury stated that she was in talks with a marathon platform that had offered her an equity deal. However, after the controversy surrounding Allahbadia erupted, the company decided to withdraw from the collaboration. “They called me and said they couldn’t afford to associate with influencers anymore because of what happened with Allahbadia. This is very upsetting,” Treasury said. “If you say something, someone will come and shut us down. Brands are being extra cautious right now.”
The India’s Got Latent Controversy
The uproar began when Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps online, made a crude joke during an episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a participant, forcing them to choose between witnessing their parents in an intimate act or stopping it in an extreme manner. The remark, deemed highly offensive, quickly drew backlash from viewers, social media users, public figures, and even political leaders.
Following the public outrage, Allahbadia issued an apology, while Raina removed all videos of the show from his channel, stating that he was cooperating with authorities. Despite his apology, Allahbadia is now facing a police investigation.
Legal and Industry Fallout
The Supreme Court has provided Allahbadia temporary protection from arrest but criticized his behavior, calling his remarks “condemnable” and indicative of a lack of responsibility. “There is something dirty in his mind that has been vomited by way of this program,” the presiding judge remarked.
