Vishal Dadlani Seemingly Knocks On Dhurandhar 2 Over Demonetisation Angle
The Bollywood singer is known to be a straight shooter when it comes to speaking his mind. While the whole country seemed to be lauding the film, Vishal Dadlani had a slightly different take. He posted two stories on his Instagram supposedly asking people to differentiate films from facts.
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, Dadlani shared a screenshot of a statement that seemed to be taken from Googleâs AI summary of news. It basically said that âthe moveâ, referring to demonetisation, did not hit upon the âblack money from the economyâ despite that being the reasoning for the same. According to the statement, this was âwidespread analysisâ based on the âhigh percentage of cash return.â
Along with this, Vishal Dadlani wrote that considering ânew BSâ prevailing, movies are âjust entertainmentâ and nonetheless, âfacts are facts.â
Later, the music director posted a second story with another summarized statement. Here, it said that terror attacks had not reduced after âthe 2016 demonetisation,â mentioning a few examples alongside. When analysed, it added, âaggregate terror incidents remained unchanged.â Vishal accompanied this screenshot with a line of his own. He retorted that watching films should be for fun. Information, however, must be gotten from âbetter sources.â
Although Dhurandhar 2 wasnât called out directly, Vishal Dadlani used âJaiye Sajanaâ from the first film as the background track. This made it clear what he was referring to.
The 2016 demonetisation was included as a major plot point in the sequel of Aditya Dharâs magnum opus, supposedly a means to hit back at money being diverted to terror.
