A day after saying goodbye to his illustrious Test cricket career, Virat Kohli took a serene and spiritual side trip with wife Anushka Sharma. The pair was seen visiting the ashram of Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan on Tuesday, highlighting again their growing spiritual bond. The official Instagram page of Bhajan Marg shared the video of Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli visiting Premanand ji in Vrindavan.
Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Visit Premanand Ji Maharaj
Inside the ashram, a priest is seen introducing Kohli and Sharma to Premanand Ji, after which the two bow respectfully before the spiritual leader. In one widely shared video, the couple is seen listening intently as Maharaj Ji shares spiritual guidance. This visit, though timed after Kohli’s retirement, is not a first; the couple has frequented the spiritual teacher’s gatherings before and is known to attend satsangs regularly. The couple is often accompanied by their children, Vamika and Akaay Kohli, although this time they were not present with their parents.
Social media buzzed with the release of videos where the celebrity couple were seen dressed in plain white, their faces covered with half-masks, traveling in a plain local vehicle. The lack of frill of their visit, anything but the paparazzi-fraught events that they are more commonly linked with, resonated instantly with fans. The couple, without children Vamika and Akaay, had a low-key entry into the ashram, evidently craving privacy as they undertook this private moment.
Anushka and Virat, over the years, have shown a powerful combination of professional achievement and personal introspection. While one is a renowned actress and the other, until yesterday, was one of India’s finest Test players, they’ve made more and more time for moments of introspection and spirituality.
