Known as ‘Mama Boy’, Influencer Seo Won Jeong (@ox_zung) was one of the most followed Korean influencers in 2023, having over 50 million followers across social media. He initially became famous for his comedic catchphrase ‘Mama’ and was even featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023 list. A few months after receiving this achievement, however, Seo Won was accused of s*xually assaulting a woman and was under investigation by the authorities.
What Happened With Influencer Seo Won Jeong, Also Known As The ‘Mama Boy’
Korean broadcasting channel, SBS, reported, “Influencer A and one other man were arrested for s*xually assaulting a woman.” The news detailed that “Influencer A” and the other man had drinks with “Woman B,” before taking her to the other man’s house and raping her. “Woman B” is said to have called the police, reporting that she “heard recording noises when she woke up after having fallen asleep” and that she “got s*xually assaulted by both men.”
SBS also further confirmed that ‘Influencer A’ refused to open the door when police showed up at the scene to investigate. The fire department was then called to force open the door. The video released by the authorities did not reveal Seo Won Jeong’s identity, but fans were quick to recognise the influencer as ‘Influencer A’ through blurred footage released by the police.
In April 2025, Sea Won Jeong was reported to be sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison; however, a second trial found the influencer guilty of only attempted r*pe. His sentence was then altered to 1 year and 6 months in prison and a 2-year suspension. On May 27, Seo posted an apology and confirmed that he was the influencer in question by saying he had cooperated with the investigation.
