News about Vijay Deverakonda replacing Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey in Ranveer Singh’s upcoming Don 3 has been afloat for a while. A recent report has revealed that it was actually Massey who chose to walk away from the film. This was reportedly because he didn’t find enough depth in his role in the much-anticipated project. As quoted in News18, Vikrant Massey’s character was going to be a smooth-talking scamster. But now with him allegedly leaving, the makers are looking for a replacement for their film before its release in January 2026. Potential replacements included the names of Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur. According to Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the producer said that while Vikrant Massey would have been phenomenal, other actors of his calibre would also do well.

Previous reports also suggested that Don 3 would see amazing cameos from both Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Though the superstar is currently busy shooting his upcoming film King with daughter Suhana Khan, he agreed to do the role due to their close bond. Pinkvilla also reported that Mimi actress Kriti Sanon might have been finalised to star opposite Ranveer Singh in the upcoming action-drama. For the unversed, Kiara Advani had also stepped out of this project due to her pregnancy.
