Actor and political party Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay Thalapathy has been under netizens’ radar. After his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce, his affair rumours involving actress Trisha Krishnan became a central point of discussion online. Amid that, he shocked everyone after publicly appearing with the actress at producer Kalpthi S’s son’s reception. However, he has continued campaigning for TVK and also made promises during International Women’s Day. Now speaking about the same, Vijay’s party member, Ranjana Nachiyaar, slammed his actions.
Ranjana Nachiyaar Criticises Vijay Thalapathy
While conversing with ANI, Ranjana Nachiyaar mentioned that a leader should respect women. She acknowledged that they all respect their leader, Vijay Thalapathy, and hoped that he would make a difference in the party that would make a difference in Tamil Nadu, providing respect and equal space for women. Ranjana then addressed the statement he made on the Women’s Day celebration. The party member stated that Vijay told everyone that his wife had filed for divorce, which is his personal matter, so they don’t want to discuss that in the media. She added, “This became viral because he told his wife is not worth it.” Ranjaan added that it may be his wife, marriage, or anything else, but the words “it’s not worth it” made people question what he meant. She added that it didn’t show that as a man he respected his spouse, so how can they believe that he will respect other women, the cadres, and people?

Further, Ranjana Nachiyaar stated that Vijay Thalapathy gave a manifesto for women, but it is more essential for him to protect his own family first. She expressed not knowing how those women support this kind of nature, but according to Ranjana, she should not back this. The TVK party member explained that a woman at home should be worshipped, adding that Vijay’s own wife delivered two kids and lived with him for more than 25 years. Ranjana stated that firstly, the actor should respect his own family, which is more important than him becoming the leader of Tamil Nadu. Having said this, she mentioned that she always supported Vijay and hoped that he would change these things. Ranjana stated that their party leader should solve personal problems. Ranjana also said that above all, Vijay should not set a bad trend for Gen-z kids. She mentioned, “bringing another actress to a wedding is a bad trend-setting.” Ranjana doesn’t think that this is a positive thing for Vijay, as Tamil Nadu natives have high hopes for him.
For the unversed, during his speech on International Women’s Day, he reportedly touched upon his personal life. He said that recently, there have been a few issues happening. He saw that people were getting hurt while fighting for it, and it hurt him to see those people get hurt. He explained that he would take care of the problems and added, “Don’t get hurt. It is not worth it.”
As of now, Vijay hasn’t responded to the comments made by Ranjana.
