Actor Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming project with filmmaker Meghna Gulzar is the much-anticipated biopic of Former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army–Sam Manekshaw. The film–Sam Bahadur has already found a place in people’s hearts, with its impressive trailer and cast. Starring Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the film follows the life of field Marshall Manekshaw and his contribution towards the country.
Recently at the launch of the film’s trailer, the actor spoke about his journey of transforming into the character and the experience of playing him in the film. Speaking about his journey, and the decision to say yes to the project, Kaushal mentioned how he considered himself “not handsome enough” to play Sam Manekshaw. On Tuesday, the actor revealed it to the press that he initially thought he wasn’t good-looking enough to portray Manekshaw in the film. Furthermore, he mentioned how filmmaker Meghna Gulzar discussed the idea of directing a biopic of his life while shooting Raazi with the actor.

Kaushal revealed how imbibing Sam Manekshaw’s charisma, charm and his walk made it one of the toughest roles of his career. The actor also went ahead and thanked Meghna for believing in him. The film is believed to present the field of Marshall’s life in the army, spanning over 40 years, with some significant milestones that strengthened his career.
