Varun Dhawan Calls Out Media For Insensitive Coverage Amid Shefali Jariwala’s Death

Kaanta Laga star Shefali Jariwala’s death has been in the news and on social media since June 27. Many paparazzi videos of the family members and Shefali’s husband, Parag Tyagi, surfaced too. In one of them, he also asked the media to leave them alone. Similar sentiments have now been voiced by Citadel: Honey Bunny star Varun Dhawan. The actor asked the media to be sensitive towards the family during these hard times. Read on to know what he wrote.
Varun Dhawan’s Statement
The Baby John star took to his social media handle to share a note amid the sudden death of Kaant Laga actor Shefali Jariwala. He wrote that a young soul passed away, and the media coverage had been very insensitive throughout. Varun Dhawan questioned the need to cover someone’s grief, and that they all looked visibly uncomfortable. Varun Dhawan requested the media to refrain from such coverage and further wrote that nobody would want their final journey to be covered.
Even Parag Tyagi had requested the media with folded hands not to record him constantly. However, he later met the media after Shefali Jariwala’s funeral and asked everyone to pray for her Pari (angel).
As per the initial reports, Shefali Jariwala died from a cardiac arrest. The police have also called it a natural death and have ruled out any kind of foul play in the matter.

The last rites of the actor took place on June 28 in Mumbai’s Oshiwara Crematorium. Many actors and celebrities paid their last condolences to the actor and strength to her family.
