Urvashi Rautela And Mimi Chakraborty Summoned By Enforcement Directorate (ED) In Illegal Betting App Case

Both Urbashi Rautela and Mimi Chakraborty have been instructed to report to the Delhi headquarters for questioning, as per the statement of the Enforcement Directorate. Officials said that their names came up during the investigation of illegal promotions and dealings involving betting platforms. The investigation is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The concerned agency has been stepping up its probe into the celebrities and sportspersons who are suspected of promoting or endorsing the betting site. On 4 September, an ex-Indian cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan, was questioned for almost eight hours at the Delhi office. His statement was recorded as a part of the case due to suspicions of his links with the app through endorsements.

The case has also witnessed other high-profile individuals being questioned. Last month, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was called, joining the increasing number of celebrities in the spotlight. Sources suggest that more sportspersons, influencers, and film celebrities will soon be asked to come on board for questioning.
