Urvashi Dholakia On Separation
Talking about the transition in her life, Urvashi Dholakia said, “By the time I actually turned into an adult, I was a mother and a father. I became all of this overnight. I wasn’t casual about it; it hit me as well, obviously. There was a time when I locked myself up in the room for 1 month just to introspect about what happened. I literally shut down myself and didn’t talk to anybody. Just to figure out how to go ahead with this.” On being asked if divorce gets easy at any point in life, Urvashi Dholakia stated, “No, separation is a separation. It hurts. I couldn’t let it get to me. I was very young. “If my parents weren’t there, then I don’t know what I would do. “If I am sitting here with you today, at this time and in this era, then I have to give credit to my parents. It means, if they hadn’t supported me, because there are so many girls who don’t get support…”
Further, the host mentioned how there’s a sense of fear too, right? When you are taking the step of a love marriage and getting married, you’re also scared about what difficulties there will be in backing off from it, not just parents but society too. In response, Urvashi Dholakia stated, “”As for the world, I don’t care about it anyway. The world isn’t the one paying my bills. The world isn’t the one putting food on my plate for me. I come from a very independent and liberal family; I can say this openly.” Atta girl! Urvashi’s response was everything!
