5 Underrated Male-Female Friendships In Bollywood Films That Prove Dosti Mei Sukoon Hai!

In Bollywood, where romance often steals the spotlight, the underrated magic of male-female friendships sometimes gets sidelined. But let’s give it up for those hidden gems that prove that platonic bonds can be just as epic. These friendships remind us that in a world often focused on romantic entanglements, the strength and joy of true platonic relationships are worth celebrating. Here are some friendship duos from Bollywood who prove, “Pyaar mei junoon hai par dosti mei sukoon hai.” This Friendship Day, let’s raise a toast to those friends who are always there, adding colour, laughter, and unwavering support to our lives.

1. Ahaana, Imaa, And Niel

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan was the perfect Gen-Z-coded friendship film that we all waited for. The constant friendship and support between the trio is so rare these days. They proved how three best friends can turn into business partners also if there is mutual understanding and respect.

2. Laila And Kabir

One underrated friendship that I adored was Katrina Kaif and Abhay Deol’s fun and platonic duo in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Their instant connection with mutual understanding and annoying Arjun was so funny. It was refreshing and we loved it.

3. Shardul And Sumi

Another underrated friendship that we adored was that of Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar’s characters from Badhaai Do. Even though they had just met, the way they felt each other’s pain and helped through it was heartwarming and we want to see more of their cute banter!

4. Bunny And Aditi

While we all are huge fans of Aditi and Naina’s friendship, Aditi’s bond with Bunny was also wholesome. His coming from across the world to attend her wedding is exactly what I expect from my best friend. The duo is so much fun together and we miss them on the big screen! Especially the scene where Bunny tries waking up Aditi from her deep sleep.

5. Ria And Sanjay

Moving on, the friendship between Ria and Sanjay in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai showed how female friends may serve as wing women in addition to being the protagonist’s love interest. Since they were young children, they had been close friends. The movie did a great job of capturing the complexity of relationships and how friendship may lead to love.
