TXT’s recent video celebrating its 7th anniversary has received attention for all the wrong reasons. The ‘Crown’ group’s official YouTube channel posted a video that featured all five members in a chat with an unknown person. Recently, it faced a lot of flak from netizens for its supposed use of AI. Read on to find out exactly what the AI was used for and why fans think it was unnecessary.

TXT Under Fire For Using Generative AI In 7th Anniversary Video

Released on March 3, 2026, the video is titled ‘[2026 DREAM WEEK] Year 1 vs Year 8ㅣThe Voice of the Stars’. Each member of the quintet then sat down before a computer. Their staff told them they were chatting with a rookie K-pop idol looking for advice. As a result, all of them offered sincere advice on each questionmposed.

Finally, it was time to reveal who TXT had been chatting with. Even before beginning, Taehyun had a weird hunch. Taking the names of a few generative AI tools, he said he hoped it wasn’t one of them over a real person. Unfortunately, the 2002-born singer’s guess was correct. The chat was run by a chatbot that had been fed information about the group members from their first year. While the members spoke about how interesting it was to offer their younger selves (the AI bot) advice, fans were less impressed.

TXT Fans Express Anger Over AI Use During Emotional 7th Anniversary

Universally slammed for this unnecessary AI chatbot, TXT fans (MOA) commented on their feelings on X (formerly known as Twitter). Some were sad that the company staff thought of making the ‘Sugar Rush Ride’ group chat with a chatbot over an actual human. Others pointed out that the idea wasn’t bad, but the AI chatbot made the whole thing impersonal. They suggested that a junior or even a staff member on the other side would be received better. One account owner even suggested that this seemed “manipulative” of the production to use AI and convince the members it was a human.

TXT recently re-signed their contract as a group. This is especially significant because so many K-pop groups disband around their 7th anniversary, when their contract ends. MOAs can cheer because this means another seven years of the K-pop group ahead!
