Fans Think TXT’s Creative Director Called Out CRAVITY’s Team For Plagiarism With Subtle Instagram Story
Fans think TXT's creative director called out CRAVITY's team on Instagram story for copying Beomgyu's music video.

A recent Instagram story by a well-known HYBE creative director who has worked with TXT, BTS and more groups is gaining attention. Fans are speculating that the creative director, Minchae, who is the force behind various K-pop concepts, has taken a jab at CRAVITY’s latest concept, which bears an uncanny resemblance to TXT Beomgyu’s music video for his song ‘Panic’.
TXT Creative Director’s Instagram Story Seems to Address CRAVITY
Minchae’s stories were a throwback to behind-the-scenes set pictures from Beomgyu’s Panic music video shoot. The concept for his mixtape was incredibly personal to Beomgyu, and it was praised for its artistic and emotional depth. The music video and its shoot centred around Beomgyu’s struggles with its conceptual imagery.
But what caught fans’ attention was the timing of Minchae’s stories. They came right after CRAVITY released new teaser images for their upcoming album. Minchae had captioned her post with the words “authenticity & sincerity.” This led to many believing she is accusing CRAVITY’s team of plagiarising Panic’s concept.

Adding to the conversation is the revelation that CRAVITY’s current concept was handled by Rakta’s creative team, who previously worked with TXT as well.
Using the same photographer doesn’t mean you can just copy Beomgyu’s idea. Panic is his story, and I can’t see the link between a personal story and another boy group. Some have questioned if the creative approach for CRAVITY’s return was significantly influenced by TXT’s earlier work, even though the production teams behind the two projects are not the same. This is because of the similarities in visual direction and atmosphere. Others argued that artists and companies frequently refer to common aesthetic trends, and such similarities are unavoidable.
The controversy also brings to light the issue of creative ownership in K-pop, where overlapping teams, independent filmmakers, and changing photographers blur the lines between influence and plagiarism. While some internet users agreed with Minchae’s subtly expressed demand for authenticity, others talked about how HYBE has also previously been accused of similar things and should not be hasty in assigning blame.
