I personally am someone who places a lot of value on good humour. I believe that a good sense of humour makes getting through life easier and helps builds connections and bonds with the people around you. Hence, I was extremely intrigued by Twinkle Khanna’s book Mrs Funnybones. I wasn’t as familiar with her quick wit and hilarious humour before that but I instantly became a fan. Hence, I was very excited to see that Twinkle Khanna has announced the upcoming release of a movie based on her short story ‘Salaam Noni Appa’ from her book, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad which will be Sonal Dabral’s directorial debut. Other people that will be a part of this project are Tanujj Garg, Sameer Nair and Atul Kasbekar. This movie will be a collaboration between Applause Entertainment, Ellipsis Entertainment and Mrs. Funnybones Movies.

In her Instagram post, Twinkle Khanna gave us a little sneak peek into her upcoming collaboration. There is going to be a movie based on her short story named ‘Salaam Noni Appa’. Twinkle says that the story is loosely based on her Nani and her sister. She further said that she was glad that her Nani was alive to see the story be adapted into a play by Lillete Dubey and believes that her Nani would have been just as pleased to see it being turned into a movie. As a writer who was very close to my Nani as well, I would love to write something based on her life and have it be adapted too. Hence, I am super excited to watch what this movie based on Twinkle Khanna’s story has to offer and how special it is going to be.
