The post, which has garnered more than nine million views on X (formerly Twitter), brought back a moment from Milan Fashion Week earlier this year. Sana had gone viral at the time for her exchange with Sakaguchi Kentaro and actress Kim Tae Ri at the PRADA afterparty.
The viral user likened the mood between Sana and Kentaro to the existing gossip surrounding Lisa, stating that Sana and Kentaro seemed “more real” as a couple and even seemed like they could begin dating.
The remark sparked controversy among fans, with some of the replies appearing to be critical of Lisa. Most of them came to the defence of the idol, arguing that the negative responses seemed to be prejudice-based. Some even emphasised how Lisa, being a Thai woman in the Korean industry, tends to receive more negative criticism compared to her Korean and Japanese peers. Thereby pointing out the problem of racism in the industry.
A fan also pointed out how Kentaro gained more than 300,000 followers on Instagram due to the exposure from Lisa’s project, yet she was accused of being attention-seeking. Others stated that comparisons between Sana and Lisa were uncalled for and unfair, considering both the idols’ success within their respective groups.
Why Fans Think The Post Is Being Racist Towards Lisa
Some of the posts also blamed some of the critics of racism, claiming that Lisa was targeted because of her nationality. One of the fans said, “So the actual reason why you are angry with Lisa is because you wanted Kentaro and Sana to be dating because Sana is Japanese? Lisa is larger than both, and you are just being racist.”

As much as most sprang to Lisa’s defence, others prayed that all three stars, Lisa, Sana and Kentaro, would get out of the negativity, a reminder to fellow fans that it is just rumour fueled by social media.
