TWICE’s recent concert in South Korea is gaining a lot of attention, but some of it is not for good reasons. A video of the girl group performing is currently going viral, garnering much negative publicity and causing a fan war between TWICE and BLACKPINK fans. TWICE was singing their popular song, ‘Dance The Night Away, when two of the members unexpectedly halted singing because of a technical problem on stage. The incident is being compared to BLACKPINK Jennie, who also stopped in the middle of a performance during the group‘s latest concert show to fix her mic.
TWICE’s On Stage Incident
In the viral clip, TWICE‘s Jihyo and Nayeon are briefly seen standing aside to their mic issue while TWICE is performing on stage. Nayeon assists Jihyo with the in-ear while the other members attempt to resume doing the choreography minus the two. This resulted in chaos on stage as Jeongyeon and Momo accidentally bumped into one another, ruining the routine and causing an awkward moment on stage.
Netizens were quick to react to this stage mishap, and opinions were varied. Some criticised the group’s professionalism and energy while others called it a simple technical glitch. Some also pointed out that the performance seemed underrehearsed.

Jennie had a similar issue with her mic when she was performing with BLACKPINK during their concert, where she stood on stage for a few seconds to fix it. The singer received intense backlash for it. Reaction to TWICE’s stage mistake is significantly less, and fans think this highlights the hypocrisy people have towards BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
