Tripti Dimri Defends Animal: “People Shouldn’t Watch Films That Don’t Suit Them.” Koi Sense Hai Iss Baat Ka?
Kuch bhi!

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has given rise to a lot of discussions and debate around its misogynistic content. Many people felt that the portrayal of women and their treatment in the film were problematic. The two leading female actresses Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri also played pivotal roles in the film. Even they agreed to do certain scenes in the film. However, in a recent interview, Tripti defended Reddy’s Animal and said people should not consume content they have a problem with. Now, well, that’s a questionable statement to make!

Tripti Dimri played a small but crucial role as Zoya in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The actress is currently soaking in the film’s success and has also been given the title of ‘National Crush’ after the film. In an interview, Tripti Dimri spoke about the controversies and criticisms that followed the film’s success. Many people argue that the film has the potential to create a negative influence on the youth. However, Tripti is of the opinion that such things depend from person to person, and if such films don’t suit a person, they shouldn’t be watched. She further added that what happens in movies does not have to be done in real life, like if goons beat each other up in action films, a person will not get influenced by it and hit someone they hate in real life. Tripti Dimri also called such discussions “long” and further added that people can have opinions about a film but they should restrict themselves from watching films that don’t suit them, as per the interview with Quint.

On the work front, Tripti Dimri has appeared in films like Bulbul and Qala and has received positive responses for each of her films till now.
The actress’s comment sounds a little ignorant. Nobody goes to the movies with preconceived notions, everybody wants entertainment. If a movie gives them that, viewers will hardly have complaints but if they find a few aspects of Animal to be problematic for their society, such criticisms should also be given equal importance just like the positive reviews.
