Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, it’s an international event celebrated on March 31 every year. It’s a day to remember the struggle they have faced and their dedication to achieving the well-deserved rights that empower the trans community. Saisha Shinde is a famous fashion designer who loves to embrace her real identity with grace. She came out as a transgender woman and shared her experience with everyone and became an inspiration for people who are struggling to embrace their real identity. 

2. Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox won many awards and hearts when she played the role of Sophia Burset in the hit series Orange Is The New Black. The actress was the first transwoman to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy for acting and the first openly transgender person to feature on the cover of Time magazine, what an achievement! She’s also a transgender rights activist. 

3. Shree Ghatak

Shree Ghatak is a social activist and the first transgender from Kolkata to feature in a Bollywood film titled Season’s Greetings in the year 2019. The actress is also the first transgender woman who legally tied the knot with her partner in Kolkata. 

4. Ivanka Das

Ivanka Das is an actress, dancer and model who stepped into the world of entertainment from the web series titled Ye Hai #Mandi. She also featured in Netflix’s web series Bombay Begums where she played the role of a trans-woman. Ivanka participated in the hit dance reality show, Dance Deewane and stole our hearts with her amazing dancing skills. 

5. Elliot Page

Elliot Page is a popular actor who came out as transgender in the year 2020 and openly discussed the transition phase. After that, he became an inspiration for all the trans people and non-binary people for embracing their true identities.

Anjali Ameer came out as a trans woman and became India’s first openly transgender actress to play the leading role opposite South superstar Mammootty in the film titled Peranbu. She opened up about her experience as a trans woman when she appeared on the reality show Big Boss Malayalam. 

8. Henthoi Mairembam/Mairembam Ronaldo Singh

Henthoi Mairembam aka Mairembam Ronaldo Singh came into the limelight when she played the role of Cheeni in Anushka Sharma’s Paatal Lok. The character was also transgender and people loved the character.
