It’s a moment for all the fans of MI and Ethan Hunt, and the Mission: Impossible story comes to an end. For the unversed, the first Mission: Impossible movie came out in 1996 with Tom Cruise gracing our screens as Ethan Hunt. It has been 30 years since the franchise, and it almost makes sense that Tom Cruise has decided to retire from this character.

Fans and media have been obsessed and have been pestering Tom Cruise with questions about whether this is really the end for the franchise, and Tom, in his iconic style, has refused to give a direct answer. A premiere of the movie was held in London, where the question was once again asked of him. One of the entertainment reporters asked how it’s been almost 7 years and he’s been working on the final film, and how they are calling it The Final Reckoning, so will it really be the end? Tom replied, saying that they are not calling it final for nothing.

He further talked about how he had a tremendous amount of enjoyment making the movie and also praised the effort and creation that went behind this movie. Finally, he teased us all when he said how for him it’s never like this end, and it’s just a goodbye and see you again.

For the unversed, Tom Cruise also walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 and promoted the movie. Furthermore, the movie was also screened at the festival, where it received a 5-minute standing ovation from the audience.
