HBO’s The White Lotus is one of the most successful shows of recent times, and the latest season impressed its fans. And guess what? It’s returning with its fourth season! While director Mike White is still in the early stages, we are looking forward to a lot. Recent reports suggest that Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys has confirmed that a general pitch has been made, and that Mike is currently entering the location-searching phase. The filming will take a while after the production kicks off.
About The White Lotus Season 4
According to The Wrap, Casey Bloys said that Mike White is location-scouting and will select whatever place he gets inspired from. After this, he would be giving an update to the makers, but it is “percolating in his head”, said the HBO executive. Though the exact location of the next season is still unknown, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, White filed for and won a film grant of AUD 13.3 million (about $8,661,702.50) from the Norwegian Film Institute for a film called Secret Garden. Some believe this was a codename for The White Lotus, implying that Season 4 could take place in Norway.
However, the outlet also reported that the plan may not have been executed due to financial disagreements, just as season 3 shifted from Japan to Thailand. Producer David Bernard noticed that Mike White was a ‘California guy’ and shied away from cold locations. Meanwhile, the rumour mills suggest that makers are considering countries like Mexico, Egypt, or even Australia. All the previous seasons were shot at The Four Seasons, so eagle-eyed fans are keeping an eye on the hotel chain.
