For the unversed, The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on Jenny Han’s book trilogy. Now, in the show, it has been revealed that Belly is planning to marry Jeremiah, much to Conrad’s distress as he still has feelings for her. As he tries being happy for the couple, Belly starts questioning her love for Jeremiah as she meets her first love Conrad after years. But in the book, Jer never shows up for his wedding with Belly when he finds out his brother also had feelings for her. After this, the brothers get into a heated fight after which, they cancel the wedding. Conrad finds about his brother’s infidelity after the Bachelors trip.
Meanwhile Belly leaves for college and breaks contact with both the brothers only to reunite with Conrad at her college graduation a few years later and rekindle their love. It ends with the duo getting married after a few years and Jeremiah eventually moving on and finding a new partner. We know this might hurt many Jeremiah fans but this was the fate of Belly in the books while the show’s finale is yet to be released.
