TMF: Aisha Ahmed Regrets Not Taking Tips From Mom Rukhsar On Live-In Relationships During ‘Minus One’!

Live-in relationships are still looked down upon in our society. Those poky neighbour aunties are always up for making lives difficult if they ever find out about couples living in a live-in relationship, yes, that’s how it is in our country. Even parents do not approve of it. But Aisha Ahmed, who was recently seen on Minus One and was the guest on a recent episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, was really lucky in this case. Her mother, actor Ruksar Rehman had a live-in relationship from times when it would have been much harder. And Aisha Ahmed shared a beautiful story about it on the show, also she had a very progressive Dadi (Paternal grandmother), and you will be surprised to know her thoughts on this modern dating concept!

Aisha Ahmed appeared in the new season of Minus One alongside Ayush Mehra, which also revolved around the couple’s live-in relationship problems. In episode 19 of The Male Feminist, host Siddhaarth Alambayan asked Aisha about her mother having experienced a live-in relationship for a long time. To which, the Minus One actor gladly replied and shared her mother’s story. Aisha Ahmed said that since her mother’s partner lived very close to her place in Mumbai, they eventually decided to quit the fuss of going to each other’s home and rather started staying together. Aisha also regretted not taking some tips from her mother while she was shooting for Minus One, as the show too dealt with the same topic.

Aisha Ahmed also put forth her ideas on the concept of live-in relationships and said that it’s just not about “Sex”. It rather gives the couple a chance to know each other better and talk out the problems in their relationship.

The most interesting part of this conversation was when the actress talked about the times when her aunt was supposed to get married. Aisha said that once her aunt agreed to marry, her Dadi actually asked her to go ahead and stay with the guy to know him better.  Even with Aisha, her dadi is really chill about her going and staying with a man in a live-in relationship and getting a better understanding of him. Well, don’t we all want such a cool dadi for ourselves?

Live-in relationships are a modern concept and are not really well understood by the older generations. Especially after the recent crimes committed by live-in partners, this concept is frowned upon.
