Zoya Akhtar’s dream project, Netflix film–The Archies has been stealing the spotlight for quite some time. Starring Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Dot, and Yuvraj Menda. Ahead of its big release on the OTT platform, the team has dropped the second song from the film–”Va Va Voom.” With Agastya leading the track, the video encapsulates the vibe of rock and roll and easily transports us to the era of the 1960s.
With a big bunch of dancers tuning to the lyrics, Nanda is seen channelling his inner Shah Rukh Khan, to impress Suhana and Khushi Kapoor. Besides Agastya, the two actresses take centre stage with wide smiles on their faces. Fashioning a retro energy, both Kapoor and Khan wore tulle dresses with dainty print designs, a waist belt and hair clipped on the sides. The song is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar and voice by Tejas.

The enthusiastic energy of the track is further combined with dance and drama, and a backdrop setup of a canopy, lights and circus-printed stripes. Dancing to the tunes of Akhtar’s lyrics, actors Vedang and Mihir can be spotted in the background, supporting Agastya’s performance. Through The Archies, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar brings a new flavour of teen musicals to Bollywood’s existing roster of films and the songs take us inside her world, one step at a time. Reacting to the track, fans seemed impressed by the performances and the fabulous outfits worn by the cast. Most also appreciated the quirky nature of this track, its interesting lyrics and the romantic aesthetic of the same.
The Archies, produced by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar is all set to release on December 7, 2023, only on Netflix.
