Zoya Akhtar Reveals The Archies Cast Had A Training Boot Camp, Shares The Advice She Gave The Newcomers

Your mentor in the first job has a huge impact on your professional career. There are some mentors who teach you the right ways of life and help you build a strong base. Director and producer Zoya Akhtar proved to be such a strong mentor to all the Archies kids, among which, some are making their big Bollywood debut. In a recent interview, the director elaborated on her process of training fresh actors for her film and also the advice of the future that shared with them. The teaser of this much-anticipated film was released at Brazil’s Netflix Tudum event.

Zoya Akhtar is going to introduce some new faces in Bollywood with her film The Archies. Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor and two popular names among them. Recently, during an interview, the director talked at length about her process of training the actors for the film based on Archies comics. Zoya Akhtar revealed that during the boot camp, she gave the freshers a bunch of comics to read, teenage movies and musicals to watch. The Archies director further stated that the entire cast was also trained in skating, swimming, dancing and cycling. They were also given a bunch of acting workshops.

In the conversation with Film Companion, Zoya Akhtar also said that the cast was separately given a camera workshop in which they were made a family with the camera angles, close-up shots, and continuity,

However, Zoya Akhtar did not just train the actors for the film but also had the best advice for them to survive in the industry. She strongly believed that a person should do one’s own job with full dedication because they cannot control anything else around them.
