Telugu actor Sivaji recently garnered a lot of backlash from netizens after his lewd comments on how actresses should dress went viral on social media. He made the said comment during the pre-release event of the upcoming project titled Dhandoraa. After receiving a lot of criticism from people, he has now issued a public apology over those remarks. Sivaji Issues A Public Apology

Sivaji took to X and shared a video apology for what he said at the aforementioned event. In the clip, he stated that he should not have used “unparliamentary words.” Sivaji clarified that he was not speaking about all women but only actresses. He said that they would not be made to feel uncomfortable if they were carefully dressed. The actor expressed that his intention was not to demean any person but because he used those words he wanted to apologise. It’s important to mention that his statements have seriously hurt people and understandably so. Even after apologising Sivaji is still receiving backlash for the same.

What Did He Say Exactly?

During the event, Sivaji reportedly gave unwanted advice to actresses not to wear whatever they feel like while going out because they will bear the consequences of it. The actor also asked actresses not to mind what he was saying but even if they did, he wouldn’t care adding that he would slap back. 

Sivaji stated that women look beautiful when they dress modestly like wearing a saree. He also shared that whenever a woman wears revealing clothes people smile at her but they will think she is a wretched woman. Sivaji added that when someone says this out loud, talks about women’s freedom is brought up. Sivaji expressed that there should be certain limits to glamour, that freedom is a privilege and they shouldn’t lose it.
