Tamil Star Vijay’s Wife Sangeetha Accuses Him Of Extramarital Affair With Actress; Files For Divorce
According to the petition, Sangeeta Sornalingam claimed that her husband Vijay, was involved in an extramarital affair with a female actor.
In recent events, famous actor Vijay’s wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, has reportedly filed a divorce petition after 25 years of marriage. A report by India Today states that the legal proceedings are based on specific provisions of the Special Marriage Act, 1994. Vijay’s Wife Files For Divorce
According to the petition, Sangeeta Sornalingam claimed that her husband Vijay, was involved in an extramarital affair with a female actor. She allegedly found out that the actor was in an ‘adulterous relationship’ with an actress, and that even after his assurance to end the relationship, it continued without any sign of regret. As described in Sections 27(1)(a) and 27(1)(d) of the Special Marriage Act, these became relevant to Sangeetha’s divorce grounds.
The act allows for divorce if a spouse is proved to have committed adultery or treated the other party cruelly. Her petition mentioned these legal reasons in the continuing procedures. The case is currently before the District Court. The outcome is yet to be determined. According to news agency ANI, a woman filed the case in the Chengalpattu family court. Vijay and his wife have yet to issue a remark.

Sangeeta and Vijay got married in August 1999. They have two children: Jason Sanjay and Divya Shasha. They married in accordance with both Hindu and Christian traditions at the time, with his wife making very rare appearances at events. This comes as his final film, Jana Nayagan, faces legal problems. Jana Nayagan was originally planned to reach theatres on January 9. The H Vinoth-directed film was scheduled to be Vijay’s final film before he ran in the Tamil Nadu elections this year with his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.
