Takuma Tani is a 47-year-old man who is known for wearing pretty doll-like outfits and for having strong vocals. The singer has over 20,000 followers on social media. Tani is famous for dressing up in Lolita fashion. Lolita fashion is a subculture and dressing style that originated in Japan in the 1990s. It is inspired by the aesthetics of Victorian and Rococo fashion.

In an interview, Takuma Tani revealed that he started learning how to play the piano at the age of three and later studied vocal performance in Liverpool, England. After returning to Japan, Tani became a vocal coach. The singer first encountered Lolita fashion at the age of 34, when he was working as a part-time model. One time when a female model cancelled, the staff asked her to wear a Lolita dress for the shoot.

Takuma Tani said he initially hesitated because it felt inappropriate to dress like that for a man and father, but then agreed. The staff praised him for his visuals and even said that he looked better than female models on camera. The cosplayer revealed that he found real confidence after wearing the Lolita fashion and dressing femininely. “My petite body, delicate features and soft temperament all became my greatest strengths,” he said.

The music Tani earlier worked on leaned towards traditional rock; however, after embracing Lolita fashion, his music is now softer and more expressive. One of Tani’s anime music cover versions has amassed more than 50,000 views on the internet.
