Tahira Kashyap’s Response To Being Labelled As “Nepo-Wife”
Tahira Kashyap made her directorial debut with Sharmajee Ki Beti, a light-hearted yet hard-hitting film on women empowerment. The director is currently busy giving interviews for the same and recently addressed the conversation around being labelled as a “nepo-wife” since she is Ayushmann Khurrana’s partner. In a conversation with India Today, Tahira clearly stated that she would not have taken seven years to make her directorial debut if she had taken the benefits of having a popular husband. Taking a dig at people who think this way, the writer-director added that she would also have made Ayushmann do a cameo in Sharamajee Ki Beti if she wanted to popularise it even more. Tahira Kashyap further acknowledged that she got many contacts through Ayushmann, and had also got many “temptations” but she chose to stay away from them. Tahira firmly stated that she took another way to build her career and would have been doing her fourth directorial by now if she had taken advantage of nepotism. Furthermore, Tahira Kashyap also stated that kids who have the luxury of successful parents in the industry should also prove themselves worthy.
