Taapsee Pannu Reveals Big Budget Films Like Dunki Don’t Pay Much, Male Stars Decide Actresses!

The Hasseen Dillruba star Taapsee Pannu has done some notable works in her acting career till now. She has also been very vocal about the ways of the film industry and how she has navigated a way through it. During a recent interview, Taapsee opened up about the process of casting actresses in big-budget films and revealed that most of the time the male leads get to have a final say in it. Regarding the fee for such projects, Taapsee Pannu said big-budget films like Dunki didn’t pay her much.

Taapsee Pannu  On Selecting Films

Taapsee Pannu was recently seen in Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba opposite Vikrant Massey. The actress has always expressed pride in leaving a strong impact on the audience with her performances and choice of films. During an interview with SCREEN, Taapsee spoke about her process of selecting films and said that it sometimes gets difficult. The actress also revealed how she faces a lot of budgeting problems for female-led females.  Taapsee Pannu said that she mostly takes up projects where she is doing the heavy lifting and therefore there are times when she seeks a breather by doing big-budget films.

However, Taapsee further added that films like Dunki or Judwaa 2 did not pay her as much as her film Hasseen Dillruba did. The actress said that people casting her in big-budget films feel that they are doing a favour and that there is no need to pay the actress a lot because a big star already headlines the film.

Elaborating on the same, Taapsee also revealed that the male stars get to decide the actress in big-budget films and if they are not secure, they are likely to take actresses who won’t overpower them in the film. Furthermore, she also said that big male actors also decide the actress for advertisement projects and have a clause for it in the brand contracts.

Well, these things are not quite surprising or new but, unfortunately, these practices continue to exist despite the desperate need for equality
