Reflecting on their past collaborations in films like Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and its sequel, Swara emphasized that while both she and Kangana openly express their political views, their approaches and ideologies diverge significantly. Swara clarified, “I just want to point out that a lot of people say ‘Kangana and you, Kangana and you,’ but there is a big difference. Every time she raised her voice, it was only in support of the government, whereas I always raised my voice to question those in power.” Furthermore, Swara addressed rumors about her potential involvement in politics, dismissing media speculations about offers from various political parties. She expressed her admiration for Rahul Gandhi, praising his vision and efforts for the country, particularly emphasizing her support for politicians advocating for love and unity.

The ongoing spat between Kangana and Swara has played out publicly on social media platforms, with barbed exchanges and accusations flying between the two actresses. In 2021, the tension peaked when Swara mocked Kangana for claiming credit for starting the feminism movement with her film Queen (2013). Kangana retaliated by accusing Swara of protecting ‘movie mafias’ and criticized her stance on nepotism in Bollywood. In a revealing interview with Times Now Navbharat in 2023, Kangana reminisced about her past friendship with Swara during the Tanu Weds Manu shoot. However, she hinted at a rift, suggesting that Swara’s newfound liberalism clashed with her own views, leading to their falling out.

For those unfamiliar with the latest developments, Kangana Ranaut has officially entered the political arena by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. The acclaimed actress is set to contest from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh.
