Swara Bhasker Claps Back At Troll For Casteist Slur Aimed At Husband Fahad Ahmad

People praise the actor turned activist for her clapback.

Swara Bhasker, the actor turned political activist, recently called out a troll on X  (formerly Twitter) for using casteist and classist slurs against her husband Fahad Ahmad, who is a politician. Swara and her husband are also currently part of a celebrity couple show called Pati Patni Aur Panga, where they have been garnering attention for their chemistry. Read on to know more. 

Swara Bhasker Slams Troll For Casteist Comment Online About Husband Fahad Ahmad

Yesterday, a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a tweet disrespecting Fahad Amed. In the tweet, the user said, “After watching @Parineeti Chopra taking her husband to talk shows for PR, @ReallySwara thought of doing the same. She took his Dongri ka chapri husband to a reality show. Forget PR, his husband was looking like a street vendor from Dongri.” 

Swara Bhasker responded to the user’s tweet by reposting it with her comment. The actress posted the person’s profile and wrote, “This twit who describes himself both as a proud Hindu and Ambedkarite does not seem to know that Chhapri is a casteist slang… a derogatory term used to describe a community that fixes ‘chappars’ or thatched huts. Also, nothing wrong with being a street vendor from Dongri or anywhere, you casteist/classist trash-brain! #CasteistAlert”

Bhasker’s sharp and straightforward reply responding to the person’s casteist remarks disguised thinly as trolling was widely praised by the internet. The actress also pointed out how terms like chhapri are often used by people in casual conversations without understanding the caste based implications of the slur. She said that such words should not be used, especially when addressing someone who belongs to a marginalised community. 

Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad got married in January 2023 under the Special Marriage Act. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Raabiyaa, in September 2023.
