Sussanne Khan, Zayed Khan Lose Their Mother Zarine Khan At 81
Born Zarin Katrak, Zarine married Sanjay Khan in 1966, and together they established one of Bollywood's most recognised families.
In a sad turn of events, actor Sanjay Khan’s wife, and Sussanne and Zayed Khan’s mother, Zarine Khan, has passed away. For the unversed, she was 81 and was also suffering from age-related ailments for a while now. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was also Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan’s ex-mother-in-law, as her daughter was married to him. Read to know more about it here.
Zarine Khan Passes Away
Born Zarin Katrak, Zarine married Sanjay Khan in 1966, and together they established one of Bollywood’s most recognised families. She is survived by four children: Zayed Khan, Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora. She was also associated with important industry people, including her nephews Fardeen Khan and Hrithik Roshan (Sussanne’s previous husband).
Zarine, known for her social appeal, had her own set of accomplishments. She made a brief appearance in films, most notably as Jenny Fernandes, Dev Anand’s secretary, in the 1963 classic Tere Ghar Ke Saamne. Aside from the screen, she was known for her ingenuity and enthusiasm for design and gastronomy.
Zarine, an excellent interior designer and food writer, wrote “Family Secrets: The Khan Family Cookbook,” which was a collection of recipes and essays celebrating her family’s culinary traditions. The book provided a unique look into the private lives of one of Bollywood’s most famous families. Zarine was recently featured on her daughter Farah Khan Ali’s blog, where she appeared alongside the family cook, Dilip, reminiscing about fond experiences, including Farah’s mehendi ceremony at Sanjay Khan’s home before her wedding to filmmaker Shirish Kunder.
