Recently, a video featuring Super Junior’s Shindong and former IZ*ONE member turned solo artist Yena spread like wildfire on the internet. It started off as a guessing game but later took an uncomfortable turn when Shindong made an inappropriate remark. The comment left Yena stunned. Netizens also expressed their anger. As per reports, during the game, Yena tried to identify two mystery voices, which belonged to Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Shindong. Their voices were altered to make the task harder, and they called Yena “noona” to make it more challenging. Yena, who is quick to catch on, guessed they were likely idols. The interaction seemed fun and engaging but the mood changed when Yena mentioned Music Bank.
In response, Eunhyuk claimed that the only bank he knew was Kookmin Bank, which is a Korean bank. Then, Shindong made his now-controversial comment. The K-pop idol stated that he had visited a “sperm bank” the previous day. Yena was shocked and questioned if such a remark was even appropriate. She even raised doubts if the person speaking was an idol. While others in the room laughed, the moment left an awkward mark.
Fans and viewers expressed anger and criticised Shindong’s comment. As per Koreaboo, they called it inappropriate and disrespectful, especially as it was toward a female idol.
