Super Junior is a senior group under SM Entertainment, the veteran K-pop boy band, which recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, and has become a hot topic due to their ongoing internal conflict. Super Junior Leeteuk’s recent actions have heightened these ongoing rumours after the leader removed member Choi Siwon from a recent post that he made on Instagram. Read on to know more.
Super Junior’s Leader Leeteuk Removes Choi Siwon From Instagram Post
Super Junior’s Leeteuk recently made headlines after he posted a brand promotion picture. In the picture, all group members were present except Siwon. What made netizens more curious was the fact that Siwon had been allegedly edited out of the picture by Leeteuk. Many people were shocked to see this, but were happy with Leeteuk’s actions, as Siwon has recently come under intense scrutiny, specifically for his political beliefs.
Super Junior’s Siwon has received harsh backlash over the months for his extreme conservative beliefs. The K-pop idol and actor was criticised for posting about the late American podcaster and political activist Charlie Kirk. He has also shared “Islamophobic” and racist posts in the past on his social media accounts.
Following these controversies, Super Junior members Heechul, Yesung and Leeteuk have unfollowed him on Instagram. Fans also sensed tension between the group members during live events.
Aside from the members, many ELFs (Super Junior’s fandom) have also been calling for Siwon’s removal from the group. They are boycotting anything related to the idol and have also submitted petitions to SM Entertainment to make the member leave Super Junior.
Leeteuk’s post has made the fans happy as it proved that they are not the only ones who want Siwon to leave. While the comments for Leeteuk’s post are turned off, fans think his actions speak louder than words.
