Suniel Shetty Addresses Nepotism Debate, Says Star Kids Work Harder Now

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has been in the news recently because of his statements. And now, he has spoken about the most heated debate of the film industry, which is nepotism. While many from the industry support it, other outsiders admit that the nepo kids have it easier. And in a recent conversation, he said that the times had changed and the kids have to work harder now to prove themselves. Read to know more about it.

Suniel Shetty On Nepotism

During a chat with HT, Suniel Shetty said he didn’t have a conventional ‘hero face’ when he first started in the 90s. While he admitted that it was harder for the outsiders without any film background to make it, 30 years later, star kids find it more difficult to succeed. He said, “The kids have to work harder to prove. Earlier, they took it for granted that I’d be a part of this. This is my hierarchy, and I’d be a part of this.” He said that they now have to come prepared as an actor.

He said that while the star kids have to face competition, heavy criticism from the audience is another factor making it difficult for them. He said everyone has become judgmental and is doing critical ‘trashing’ of the cinema. Both of his kids, Athiya Shetty and Ahan Shetty, have made their debut in Bollywood. While Athiya has stopped working, his son is looking forward to his upcoming film Border 2 with Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, and Diljit Dosanjh.
