In recent news, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has landed in trouble after the alleged purchase of an agricultural land in Alibaug. Reports suggest that she bought two plots together worth around Rs 22 Crore in Alibaug in 2023 and 2024. They were registered under the name of Deja Vu Farm Private Limited. The company is reportedly owned by Gauri Khan’s mother and sister-in-law.
Suhana Khan In Legal Trouble
As quoted in News18, Suhana Khan allegedly bought one plot in Alibaug’s Thal village for Rs 12.91 Crores. She reportedly bought it from three sisters- Anjali, Rekha, and Priya, who had inherited it from their parents. It further said that the government had initially allocated the land for farming. And Khan paid a stamp duty of Rs 77.46 Lakh at the time of purchase. In the registered documents made at the time of purchase, she was allegedly shown as a farmer. The matter is currently being investigated by the authorities, and Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh Shirke has asked for an unbiased report from the Alibaug Tehsildar.
Suhana is preparing for her theatrical debut in King alongside her father, Shah Rukh Khan. It will also feature other stars like Abhay Verma, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and more.
In 2018, the income-tax department temporarily attached Khan’s bungalow in Alibaug on suspicion that it was being used as a farmhouse for personal gain, despite being purchased for agricultural use. The property was owned by Deja Vu Farms Pvt Ltd. The warning was part of the I-T department’s inquiry into the benami transaction and potential violations of agricultural land acquisition regulations.
