Stray Kids Bang Chan’s Testimony About Deepfake Videos Revealed In Public Documents

A new development made in Stray Kids Bangchan’s legal case has angered his fans. On September 5, a federal judge in California, United States, granted permission for him to obtain basic information from X (previously Twitter) regarding accounts that posted deepfake videos of him. 

In the US, court filings constitute public records, and the media and fans were able to view and share the information about Stray Kids Bang Chan’s case. In the initial application, Bang Chan and his legal representatives made declarations, statements that would substitute for live testimony during court hearings. They gave insight into the immense distress generated by the doctored videos.

The court papers depict videos that had been manipulated to create the impression that Bangchan was using racist insults, including the N-word, and s*xually provocative comments. Bang Chan testified about the emotional and physical toll he endured in consequence, stressing the violation of his privacy as well as the harm to his reputation.

Fans and the general online community were left devastated and furious over the revelation.
