‘Stranger Things’ Actor Noah Schnapp Confirms That Will Is Gay And We’re So Glad That It’s Finally Official!

As fans of Stranger Things, we have come to know and love each and every character from the show. Every season, we feel like we’re a step closer to them and hence, we all have theorized a lot of things about them since the Netflix show’s first season as the young cast has literally blossomed in front of our eyes. The most prominent and common theory that we all seem to share was the fact that the character Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, is gay, but direct confirmation had always been missing from the equation.

Thankfully, the wait is finally over as this nod has now come from actor Noah Schnapp. Noah also confirmed another big theory that we have all believed in, i.e. that Will is head over heels in love with his best friend, Mike Wheeler who is played by none other than, Finn Wolfhard. We have been waiting for this official revelation for a very long time and it feels great to finally be validated, doesn’t it?

Schnapp has also clarified that the show’s writers have definitely and intentionally been “pulling that out over the past few seasons from the character.”

Schnapp also discussed Will’s journey in an interview with Variety, “I mean, it’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike. Even in Season 1, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline. I think for Season 4, it was just me playing this character who loves his best friend but struggles with knowing if he’ll be accepted or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesn’t belong.”

It’s a fact that we could see his love for Mike very prominent when he felt abandoned by Mike and his other best friends as they discovered girls and skipped to a time where Dungeons and Dragons were no longer their favourite game. The sorrow and loneliness seemed to have been clear on the character’s face and in his mind.

Twitterati is also very happy about this nod and has been waiting for it for a very long time which is why, their response to it, is so visibly diverse in nature but, also very supportive:

It has been really sad watching Will hide his sexuality and reality so, we hope that the final season of Stranger Things gives Will a happy ending because he, without a doubt, deserves it. Mike, we see you and you’re definitely next on the radar!
