Park Junhwan To Not Be A Part Of IDID Following Backlash; Agency To Take Legal Action Against Accusers!

Starship Entertainment’s upcoming boy group, IDID, will debut without Park Junhwan due to recent controversy. Earlier, an anonymous user accused him of making offensive remarks about a disabled girl, blaming his ex-girlfriend for personal issues, and expressing harmful intentions toward a female idol. The backlash was intense, with fans demanding his removal.
On June 2, 2025, Starship announced his exit with a detailed statement. They denied the allegations, saying they checked Park Junhwan’s school records and spoke with officials, who described him as a hard-working student. The company found evidence that some online accounts, posing as former classmates, were fake. Despite this, the constant hate and rumours took a toll on Park Junhwan, a minor, which caused him severe stress and disrupted his life.
Further, the agency revealed Park Junhwan was receiving professional mental health support. He chose to step away from IDID to focus on recovery, and Starship respected his decision. They promised to support his future dreams outside the group. The statement also warned of legal action against those spreading lies and making harmful comments, citing laws protecting minors from online harassment. Lastly, Starship apologised to fans for the concern caused.

With his exit, IDID will now debut as a seven-member group, featuring Minjae, Yonghoon, Junhyuk, Wonbin, Yoochan, Semin, and Sunghyun. As per reports, the group is set to launch in late 2025. Social media have fixed feelings about it. Some fans praised Starship for protecting Park Junhwan’s health and believed the rumours were unfair. Others agreed that his removal was best for IDID’s image.
