Zakir Khan On Health Reasons Behind Career Break
Stand-up comedian Zakir Khan had a chat with the Gulf News and said he needed to take care of his health, adding that there is a particular genetic illness in his family that tends to surface at a certain age. Zakir also stated that on top of it, he has “damaged” his body himself, which includes sleeping for two hours and then meeting thousands of people. He shared that the moment one lands in the city, they start meeting people immediately.
The stand-up comedian also said that when one keeps their foot on the accelerator for ten years straight, the body is bound to take a hit. He recalled thinking that he would manage health alongside his work but last year, when they were in the US, he realised that it was not possible to do that side by side. That was when Zakir Khan made the career break decision.

More On His Career Break Announcement
During a show in Hyderabad, which is a part of Papa Yaar Tour, a video of stand-up comedian Zakir Khan announcing his career break went viral on social media. In the clip, he can be seen revealing that he would be taking a break after finishing his current commitments, which could last several years, potentially until 2028, 2029 or 2030. At the time, he told the crowd that it was because of health concerns and to attend to personal matters.
Additionally, Zakir reportedly announced on social media that every show is a celebration till June 20. The stand-up comedian shared that he won’t be able to come to many cities and urged people to make an extra effort this time and attend his shows. We hope that Zakir recovers and feels better!
