SS Rajamouli Intially Had Doubts Casting Priyanka Chopra In Varanasi!
SS Rajamlouli sat down with Screen Rant and stated that it has been a while since Priyanka Chopra did an Indian film. He recalled that she did her last Indian film 8 years ago. The director further aknowledged that the actress did Hollywood productions in between. Talking about his doubts about casting her in Varanasi, he reflected on thinking whether she had changed her approach according to the Western audience and if she’d be ready to move back to her Indian base. He recalled that on the first day of the set, Priyanka was a “fish into water.”
Priyanka Chopra On Her Dance Number Request
When Priyanka Chopra spoke with CinemaBlend, she revealed that when SS Rajamouli called her and described her character, Mandakini, Priyanka asked him if he would make her dance. The actress stated that she hasn’t danced for so long. The Barfi star then said that she should not have asked him that, adding “because we be dancing.” The actress also revealed that her co-star, Mahesh Babu jokingly blamed her saying that it’s because of Priyanka; he had to do it too.
