Netflix has unveiled the third season of our favourite thriller Squid Games and it’s bigger, better, and more dangerous. It is set to premiere on June 27, 2025. The trailer promises an emotional and intense finale season, marked by brutal new games and psychological chaos. This season will also see the concluding story of Player 456, Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, who finally confronts the Front Man, directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk.

The newest season of Squid Games brings several frightening new games,with Netflix confirming the return of the horrifying height-based challenge that was absent in season 2. Iconic props return, including Young-hee, the gigantic doll from the previous two seasons, but with a new, more malevolent purpose. Season 2 concluded on a dramatic cliffhanger, with Gi-hun attempting to gather a gang of players against the Front Man, only to watch helplessly as his closest comrade was killed.

Season 3 has multiple frightening new games, with Netflix confirming the return of the horrifying height-based challenge that was absent in season 2. Iconic objects such as Young-hee, the gigantic doll from the previous two seasons, reappearance, albeit with a new, more malevolent purpose. Squid Game premiered in September 2021 and rapidly became a global phenomenon. It remains Netflix’s second most-watched series of all time, with Season 2 set to premiere in December 2024, gaining third place. Only Wednesday Season 1 has received more views on the platform.

Im Si-wan is slated to play a key part, with his character’s plotline apparently serving as a crucial emotional and narrative turning point. Other previously ignored characters, including as Seon Nyeo, will be given greater development, while fan favourites Hyun Ju and Jang Geum Ja will return with fuller backstories.
