In a conversation with The Guardian, Hwang Dong Hyuk, the creator of Squid Game, opened up about whether viewers can expect a happy ending for Season 3. In response, he said that people generally enjoy happy endings, and he feels the same way. However, he mentioned that some stories, by their very nature, cannot have a happy ending. The creator added that forcing a happy ending can harm the true meaning of a story, and if a story aims to reflect reality, then a happy ending is not always possible, and Squid Game is one such story. We agree!
He also mentioned that the finale was a surprise even to him. And hence, the creator is confident that many fans will not predict it. Hwang Dong-hyuk is also expecting a variety of reactions from viewers and also feels that the ending will definitely ignite a discussion.
