Since the prostitution scandal, actor Uhm Tae Woong is now set to return to the screen after a long break. He will appear in the K-Drama I Kill U. This show finished filming in August 2023 and also stars Kang Jiyoung from KARA and Lee Kikwang from HIGHLIGHT. Directed by Yoo Ha led , I Kill U will first be shown as a movie at BIFAN on July 9, 2025. Uhm Tae Woong will play a supporting part as a rich CEO’s assistant.
His wife, Yoon Hye Jin, shared her feelings online. She expressed thanks to her late mother. Yoon Hye Jin felt her mother was watching over them. She had seen her husband go through a difficult time. Yoon Hye Jin saw him try to get back on his feet. She sometimes hoped this day would come. Other times, she thought it might never happen. It all started in August 2016. Uhm Tae Woong was reported to the police after a woman claimed that he had assaulted her at a massage place. This claim was later found to be untrue and the charges of s*xual assault was dropped. The woman who falsely accused him also faced consequences. She was given a prison sentence. The woman received two years and six months for making a false accusation.
However, the police discovered the massage parlor was a prostitution business. Because of this, a charge of soliciting prostitution against the actor continued. Further in 2016, Uhm Tae Woong had to pay ₩1.00 million KRW as a fine and later in 2017, he was no longer allowed on major TV channels like KBS, EBS, and MBC.
