South Asian University Student Assaulted By Four Men, College Warden Allegedly Asked Her To Take A Shower. Shameful!

Do we have anything new to say? Will this too be another incident added to the long, horrifying list of s*xual harassment and gang-r*pe incidents against women in the country? A college student assaulted by other college students? Where are we going as youths of a developing nation? It’s shameful! The recent case where a female student from the South Asian University was allegedly s*xually assaulted by four men has shaken us again. The police are currently investigating the case and are reportedly treating it as attempted gang-r*pe. Read on for more.
South Asian University Assault Case
As per the news report, a female student was found on the college campus on October 13, after she went missing, and someone who knew the victim reportedly called the police. As per The Hindu report, the women was found with her torn clothes, and in her statement to the police, she has alleged that four men pulled her from near the auditorium. In the media briefing, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankit Chauhan said that an FIR was immediatelhy registered after recording the victim’s statement and she was sent for the medical examination. The victim is also receiving counselling. The investigation is underway and the police have asked the unversity for the CCTV footage. As of now, there have been no arrests.
On the other hand, the students of the South Asian University are protesting against the college and administration for not treating the case with urgency. They also claim that the university is trying to supress the matter. Not just this, as per a report by The Telegraph, the students have demanded the hostel warden’s resignation as she had allegedly asked the victim to take a shower right after the assault. As a part of the protest, the students did not attend lectures on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the South Asian University also gave their official statement on the matter, and have condemned the incident. The university stands in support of the victim, and would given all kinds of assistance to the police investigating the case, as per their statement.
