Actor Anjali addressed an incident where Nandamuri Balakrishna pushed her on stage during a promotional event. On Friday, she posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) that captured the push and the laughter that followed. Anjali also thanked Balakrishna for attending the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event emphasizing their long years of friendship and respect between them.

In the shared clip, Nandamuri Balakrishna is seen talking to Anjali before high-fiving her and making jokes together. The video also includes him pushing Anjali away. She was laughing after he pushed her though it appeared like nothing had happened.

What Happened At The Event

Balakrishna was invited as a special guest during a promotional event held for Krishna Chaitanya’s upcoming Telugu movie, Gangs of Godavari. He took center stage after which he asked actors from his movie- Neha Shetty dressed in grey ethnic attire; Anjali clad in sari respectively- to step aside for him. Then moments later, he pushed her and almost made her fall, but Anjali remained composed and laughed it off.

Social Media Backlash

The incident went viral on social media in no time, though Anjali seemed to have taken it lightly, with many users expressing anger and criticizing Balakrishna. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada reacted to the video on X, emphasizing how societal pressure pushes women into behaving properly during such incidences and society refuses to hold such men accountable for their actions. Scam 1992 director Hansal Mehta and Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta too condemned this action by Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Nandamuri Balakrishna has yet to react to the social media controversy surrounding the incident.
