Sonam Kapoor Reacts Strongly To Death Tolls In Bangladesh Amid Student Protests
Sonam Kapoor took to her social media handle to post the news about rising death tolls in Bangladesh amid the ongoing student protest. In this post, Sonam expressed her deep condolences to the people of Bangladesh and prayed for their safety. The Neerja actress called it “Horrible”. The post shared by Sonam Kapoor informed that at least 66 people have died in the protest and the numbers are rising.

For the unversed, the violent tussle between the students and the Bangladesh government erupted when the country’s High Court passed a law to give a 30 per cent quota in government jobs to the successors of freedom fighters. The angry students began a protest against Sheikh Hasina’s government when they refused to turn down this ruling by the High Court. The protestors are demanding PM’s resignation and as a retaliation, the government has taken some extreme steps. For many days. there was no internet connection in the country either. As per the latest reports, around 98 people have been killed in the protest.
