Sonam Kapoor was recently interviewed about her love for fashion, motherhood, navigating through roles, and more to The Dirty Magazine. While discussing her motherhood journey, the actor instantly talked about her body. She said that as she was 36 years old during her pregnancy, she had to take a lot of Progesterone. She went on to share that she gained about 15 kilos during her first three months of pregnancy and that she was her heaviest self back then. The Neerja star said that everyone thinks the weight might go after the baby comes out, but it was not true for her as it took her one-and-a-half years to lose the weight.
Talking about body image issues, Sonam Kapoor revealed that all the changes in her body and that it has been traumatic for her. She said that one continuously examines oneself in this line of work, and forgets about the scrutiny from others. Kapoor said that she also grew up in front of everyone starting when I was 17 or 18. In addition to witnessing witnessed her ageing; her face, body, and everything had changed. Both challenging and traumatic. She has always found it challenging as there has always been physical conflict. All in all, it has been a struggle for her and rightly so.
Sonam Kapoor On Being A Mom
After talking about her struggles with weight gain during the pregnancy, Sonam Kapoor went on to say that she has always wanted to be a mom. Upon being asked about her disappearance from the public eye to take care of her son Vayu, she said that she just needed to be a mom for two years. Admitting that even though she had a lot of help, she wanted to do everything by herself. Sonam Kapoor talked about the feeling of having her son a little late in life by saying that maybe this is why people want to be more involved in their lives. She concluded by saying that her husband, Anand Ahuja has always been with her every step of the way.
