The duo have been together for eight years now, and in a recent chat, the actress revealed that besides the fun part, they have also had some down moments in their relationship. During a chat with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, Sonakshi Sinha revealed that just like any other couple, her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal also went through ups and downs. She said, “Just when we were three years into the relationship, we had a phase where we just wanted to pull each other’s hair out. No matter what we did, we just couldn’t understand each other’s perspective.” She said that despite all this, they knew it in their hearts that they wanted to make this work.

After this, the duo decided to opt for couples therapy, which was suggested by Zaheer Iqbal. Sinha was open to it too, and just after two sessions, they were back on track. The actress vouched for couples therapy, saying that it makes one understand the other person. During the same chat, the Heeramandi actress also revealed that she was the one between her and Zaheer to say “I love you.” And for the unversed, she confessed her love within just one week of dating.

After seven years of courtship, the pair married in a civil ceremony in Mumbai in June 2024, in front of their closest friends and family. The wedding was followed by a lavish reception at Bastian, with several Bollywood superstars in attendance to bless the newlyweds.
